Chief Accountant

Description

The Chief Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the company’s financial department. This role includes overseeing financial operations to enhance efficiency, maintain high service quality, and optimize resource management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the accounting team.
• Prepare monthly statutory accounts and financial statements in compliance with Armenian tax regulations.
• Ensure accuracy, integrity, and timely reporting of financial information.
• Approve financial transactions and ensure proper handling in accordance with accounting principles.
• Maintain accounting records and oversee all company transactions and assets.
• Review and correct errors or inconsistencies in financial documents and reports.
• Monitor and manage the fixed asset system.
• Coordinate the monthly closing process and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Prepare annual financial statements under IFRS and generate reports analyzing the company’s financial position.
• Compile work papers and supporting schedules for annual financial reviews.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in trade companies.
• Proficiency in Armenian, Russian, and English (spoken and written).
• Expert Accountant qualification is required.
• Strong IT skills, with experience in setting up and managing computerized accounting systems.
• Expertise in 1C accounting software, expertise in Armenian accounting software is preferable.
• Excellent knowledge of IFRS and Armenian accounting, tax, and financial regulations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Team player with the ability to adapt and take on senior roles as the company grows.
• Self-motivated and proactive, capable of working independently under pressure with minimal supervision.
