Data & Reporting Analyst (Part-Time)

About the Role
Iris Mechanical is looking for a detail-oriented Data & Reporting Analyst to help us collect, organize, and maintain business and financial data.
This is a good fit for a university student or early-career candidate studying finance, accounting, economics, business analytics, or a related field who wants hands-on experience working with real business data.
Your primary responsibility will be making sure management has accurate, organized, and up-to-date numbers for decision-making.
What You'll Do
- Gather data from our CRM, QuickBooks, and other business systems.
- Update recurring reports, spreadsheets, and dashboards in Google Workspace.
- Organize and clean raw data.
- Maintain financial and operational tracking tables.
- Assist with P&L, revenue, cost, and project-margin reporting.
- Use formulas, pivot tables, and basic data analysis to summarize results.
- Check reports for missing, inconsistent, or incorrect data.
- Identify meaningful changes, trends, or unusual numbers for management review.
Requirements
- Strong Google Sheets or Excel skills.
- Comfortable with formulas, filters, sorting, and pivot tables.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with numbers.
- Able to organize unstructured data into clear tables and reports.
- Able to work independently and meet recurring deadlines.
- English sufficient to understand instructions, business terminology, and communicate findings clearly.
- Comfortable learning new software and using AI tools.
Nice to have: QuickBooks, CRM, Looker Studio, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or other data/BI experience.
Previous professional experience is not required if you can demonstrate strong analytical and spreadsheet skills.
Schedule & Compensation
- 10–20 hours/week
- Fully remote
- Flexible schedule — work primarily on your own hours
- $7–12/hour, depending on skills and experience
- Opportunity to take on more analytical responsibility as you develop
