Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated Compliance & KYC Officer to join our Yerevan team. This is a great opportunity for a candidate with a compliance or legal background who is eager to grow into an international role. You will be fully trained on HOSTKEY's internal procedures, screening tools, sanctions lists, and risk frameworks. A key part of this role involves using AI-powered tools to efficiently perform compliance checks, analyze client profiles, and flag risks — making the work both modern and high-impact.

Key Responsibilities

• KYC Client Onboarding: Verify identity documents, collect and review corporate client documentation (registration, UBO, contracts), and approve or escalate onboarding cases

• Sanctions Screening: Check all new and existing clients against international sanctions lists (EU Consolidated Sanctions List, US OFAC SDN List) using provided screening tools and AI-assisted workflows

• Risk Rating: Apply the company's client risk scoring model (Low / Medium / High) to categorize clients based on jurisdiction, business type, service usage, and payment behavior

• High-Risk & Suspicious Client Management: Identify, escalate, and where necessary recommend blocking or offboarding of clients who pose compliance risks

• Ongoing Monitoring: Conduct periodic reviews of existing clients; monitor account activity for red flags and anomalies

• AI-Assisted Compliance Work: Actively use AI tools provided by the company to accelerate screening, draft reports, summarize client risk profiles, and keep up with regulatory updates

• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate compliance records, audit trails, and internal reports; assist in preparing regulatory filings as required

• Internal Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Finance, and Management to support compliant client relationships

• Continuous Learning: Stay up to date with compliance best practices through company-provided training, materials, and guidance from senior management

Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience in a Compliance, KYC, AML, legal, or risk-related role • Basic understanding of KYC/AML principles and the concept of client risk assessment

• Comfortable working with checklists, screening tools, and structured workflows

• Strong attention to detail and a methodical, process-driven approach

• Good command of English (written) — working language for documentation and correspondence

• Openness to learning and working with AI-powered compliance tools

• Ability to work on-site in Yerevan, Armenia

• High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive client information

Nice to Have

• EU citizenship or residency — preferred but not required

• Familiarity with EU compliance frameworks (AMLD, GDPR) or international sanctions regimes

• Experience in tech, hosting, fintech, or telecommunications

• Professional compliance certification (ICA, ACAMS, or similar) — a plus, not a prerequisite

• Knowledge of Armenian or other languages in addition to English
