Business Development Specialist (Duty Free Channels)

Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Development Specialist to support our duty-free channel operations across international markets. This role is ideal for a proactive individual looking to build a career in the tobacco industry, with a strong focus on developing commercial strategies, supporting sales execution, and identifying new growth opportunities within the global travel retail space.

Responsibilities

Sales Support & Execution:

• Assist in executing sales plans for duty-free accounts across airports, border shops, cruise lines, and diplomatic channels.
• Handle accounts purchase orders and secure delivery whilst cooperating with the logistics and production teams.
• Handle requests, issues and system data uploading related to orders.
• Generate leads, and build a dynamic sales pipeline, converting qualified ones into partnerships.
• Monitor stock levels, orders, pricing, and product availability in coordination with supply chain and logistics teams.
• Support the preparation and analysis of sales reports, forecasts, and trade performance metrics.

Business Development:

• Conduct market and competitor research to identify new opportunities within the travel retail and duty-free sectors.
• Help develop promotional strategies and customer activation plans aligned with brand objectives.
• Support commercial negotiations with duty-free operators under the guidance of the senior sales team.

Relationship Management:

• Build strong working relationships with retail partners, distributors, and internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate with marketing and trade marketing teams to ensure brand visibility and compliance at point of sale.

Administrative & Operational Support:

• Prepare business presentations, product listings, and client meeting materials.
• Ensure all account documentation and contracts are maintained and up to date.
• Track and manage budgets and expenses related to trade activities and travel retail campaigns.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, International Trade, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in sales, business development, or FMCG (experience in tobacco or duty-free preferred but not essential).
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Fluent in English, Armenian & Russian; additional languages ​​(eg, Chinese, Spanish, Arabic) are a plus.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 25%.
