Description

The Head of Projects is responsible for directing the project management of special projects assigned within approved project parameters like cost, timelines, functionality and quality in order to meet the set objectives. The role holder is also responsible for acquiring resources, coordinating efforts of team members and vendors/consultants to deliver projects according to the plan in addition to defining the project objectives and overseeing quality control throughout its lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of the Project Management strategy, policies, systems, and processes for executing projects in order to fulfill the Project Management requirements in line with the vision, mission and overall strategy of MAF Retail
  • Create and execute project plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Set up project teams post-project approval, ensure efficient and effective coordination with internal departments for the preparation of project design and tenders
  • Provide overall direction in the planning, organizing, management and control of various projects in order to ensure that the project cycle is completed meeting agreed project parameters, standards and objectives
  • Monitor projects and teams and ensure proper execution and completion in a timely manner and in line with set plans and budget while ensuring efficient utilization of resources
  • Oversee and ensure that contracts pertaining to projects assigned are honored and that contractors/consultants/third party occupiers seek to fulfill commitments as per contract agreement and achieve agreed KPIs
  • Keep abreast of local/regional events which may likely impact the project's success
  • Prepare periodical business reports to inform management about the current status of planned or actual projects
  • Identify training needs and coordinate with the HC department to ensure the facilitation of training requirements
  • Oversee the development and implementation of on the job training

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Management or relevant to the role
  • Excellent knowledge of English language and MS office
  • Minimum 5 years in the related managerial function
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Managerial Skills

  • Outstanding needs analysis, positioning, business justification and closing skills
  • Proper planning and execution of projects
  • The success of newly approved projects
  • Timeliness and accuracy of activities
