Description
We are a healthcare consulting firm seeking a skilled Software Developer to build a custom, HIPAA-compliant HR and document management platform tailored to the needs of medical practices.
Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for all architectural and development activities to deliver a fully functional, highly available, and performant solution in Amazon AWS. It will also be responsible for ongoing day 2 operational activities, including monitoring, maintenance, and availability of the platform.
1. Design and develop a secure HR platform with:
- Employee onboarding and e-signatures.
- Online HR manual creation and distribution.
- Time-off requests, PTO tracking, and compliance alerts.
- Policy acknowledgment and version control.
2. Develop a user-centric document management system:
- Allow employees to upload, access, and organize employment-related documents (licenses, reviews, contracts, etc.).
- Provide admin dashboards for managing expirations and renewals.
- Ensure the platform has an intuitively responsive mobile app access for the admin and employees.
- Build secure role-based access and encrypted data storage compliant with HIPAA and labor law regulations.
- Integrate with existing external third-party APIs to further automate workflows (e.g., payroll, scheduling, or e-signature solutions).
- Create technical documentation and support for onboarding internal users.
- Provide technical documentation highlighting architectural design and functional relationships.

- 5+ years of full-stack development experience with secure web applications.
- Strong proficiency in backend (Python, Node.js, or similar) and frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or similar).
- Experience building highly secure systems to comply with HIPAA requirements, including secure authentication, access control, intrusion detection, audit logs, data encryption at rest and in transit.
- 5+ years of experience building scalable and secure applications in AWS (GCP or Azure experience is acceptable).
- Designing highly efficient relational data structures to support high-performing applications.
- Strong understanding of user experience design and mobile-first development.
- Strong knowledge of AWS CloudWatch and other AWS observability services to implement proactive synthetic application and platform monitoring.
Additional Notes
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with HR software or healthcare practice platforms.
- Familiarity with electronic signature tools and scheduling/payroll integrations.
- Ability to work independently and manage the full lifecycle of software development.
- Effective communication skills with other stakeholders working remotely.
Familiarity with OCR/document parsing and status tracking workflows.
