YOUR ROLE

If you are a passionate, solution-centred, creative, proactive professional with good communication skills, then being COAF (Children of Armenia Charitable Fund) Speech Therapist at the Child and Family Center in Artsakh is a perfect role for you. Your responsibilities are the following:

Speech therapy (80%)

  • Identify the 3-18-age children in Artsakh that have speech impediments, communication and other difficulties.
  • Conduct holistic assessment and evaluation of the families.
  • Provide speech therapy services based on the assessments
  • With the aim of supporting the children to overcome their difficulties, implement relevant corrective and educational methods and tools

Education and awareness-raising (10%)

  • Implement awareness-raising and education activities for the beneficiary children’s parents.
  • Design informational materials for the parents, teachers and schools’ administrations and other inhabitants of the communities.
  • With the aim of preventing speech impediments, implement seminars for parents, kindergarten and school teachers, and high school students.

Cooperation (10%)

  • Cooperate with the multidisciplinary team of the Center and with other departments of the organization.
  • Work with the existing kindergartens, schools and health institutions in the communities of Artsakh.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with other organizations of Artsakh.

YOUR TEAM

Taking over the role of the Speech Therapist you will be joining the COAF Village Programs team and you will work under the leadership of COAF Speech Therapy Coordinator.

YOU KNOW (Knowledge)

  • The individual and group therapy methods, as you have higher education in Speech Therapy (BA and/or MA) and at least one year of experience in the field of social work.
  • Armenian, verbal & written.
  • Non-formal education methodology.

YOU CAN (Skills)

  • Provide quality speech therapy services, because you have at least one year of relevant experience.
  • Use G Suite and other working platforms.
  • Organize, prioritize & multitask.
  • Analyze & work with data.
  • Work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Present & communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Children of Armenia Fund (COAF) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that employs community-led approaches aimed at improving the quality of life in rural Armenia, with a particular focus on children and youth. COAF’s target development areas are education, health, social and economic development. COAF launched its programs in 2004, starting in one village and expanding to 64 villages in Armavir, Aragatsotn, Lori, Gegharkunik, Shirak, and Tavush regions.

Since 2015, COAF has developed and started implementing SMART Initiatives. COAF SMART is designed to advance a generation across the rural world through education that will benefit individuals, societies, and the environment. COAF SMART is an exemplary model of development and will be replicated in other regions and communities throughout Armenia. The first COAF SMART Center was inaugurated on May 27, 2018 near the village of Debet, Lori Region.
