Dream Bridgeman International School
Overview
Dream Bridgeman is an international school in Yerevan and an official representative of the Oxford International Curriculum integrated with the Armenian National Educational Program. Our mission is to build a connection between Armenian national identity and global educational standards. We focus on a "Wellbeing-first" philosophy, creating a supportive environment for students and staff to thrive.
Core Teaching Responsibilities:
- The Homeroom Teacher holds comprehensive ownership over their assigned class’s academic and pastoral journey. Instruction is split into two structural tiers:
- Deep-Dive Subject Instruction: You will be responsible for teaching English Language & Literature and Mathematics comprehensively and deeply to your class to build advanced foundational fluency. (Note: Prior specialized experience in math teaching is not a strict requirement, but the ability to deliver this content confidently is expected).
- Basic-Level Subject Instruction: In addition to the core subjects above, you will deliver foundational, basic-level introductory lessons across five areas: Science, Geography, History, Wellbeing, and Global Skills.
- Additional points:
- Planning: To plan and prepare courses, schemes of work, and individual lessons appropriate to the needs, interests, experience, and existing knowledge of the pupils in one's class.
- Setting and Supervising Work by Pupils: To teach a class, sets, or groups, and to set tasks to be undertaken both at school and elsewhere.
- Marking and Recording: To mark and assess pupils' work and to record their development, progress, and attainment accurately.
- Discipline and Relationships: To take responsibility for maintaining good order, discipline, and respect for others among the pupils, both inside and outside the classroom; to promote understanding of the school's rules and values; to safeguard health and safety; and to develop relationships with and between pupils conducive to optimum learning. Teachers are expected to role-model appropriate use of language and professional communication at all times.
- Communication with Parents: To build and maintain cooperative relationships with parents and to communicate with them on pupils' learning and progress, drawing attention to special skills and talents as well as to areas needing reinforcement.
- The Classroom: To maintain an attractive, safe, and stimulating classroom environment and to contribute to educational displays in the school as a whole.
- Overall Policy and Review: To comply with all school policies and guidelines and take part in whole-school reviews of policy and aims.
- Reports: To provide or contribute to oral and written assessments, reports, and references relating to the development and learning of individual pupils and groups of pupils.
- Review: To evaluate and review one's own teaching methods, materials, and schemes of work, making creative changes as appropriate.
- Professional Development: To stay up-to-date with current educational thinking and practices; to improve one’s pedagogy and understanding of pupil behavior and development through study, courses, workshops, and meetings; and to participate in appraisals arranged by the Headteacher.
- Public Relations: To establish and maintain cooperative relationships with other staff members, exhibit appropriate professional conduct and dress, and communicate positive aspects of the school to the public.
- School Life & Pastoral Care: To engage actively in the broader school ecosystem:
- Serve as a class teacher with day-to-day pastoral care responsibilities for students.
- Act as a mentor and role model to all DB pupils.
- Participate in off-site student field trips, staff meetings, and departmental collaborations.
- Carry out scheduled supervisory duties at break/lunch times.
- Lead or assist with at least one co-curricular or after-school enrichment class.
- Working Days: To maintain regular attendance during all scheduled school days and on those Saturdays when attendance is required for school events, open days, or staff workshops.
- Additional Duties: To perform any additional professional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Head.
Required Qualifications
- Bilingual Proficiency: Full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken) and native fluency in Armenian.
- Proven Group Management Skills: Direct, practical experience teaching or tutoring groups of children is strictly required. This includes school classroom experience or structured group-based private tutoring. - A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Primary Education, Early Childhood Development, English Philology, or a related field.
