
Legal Assistant (Qualified Lawyer)

Description
FPWC is looking for a Legal Assistant to join our team. This role requires a licensed attorney with fluency in English, at least 2-3 years of experience, and strong expertise in land-related legal issues, including cadastral transactions and community legal relations. Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and manage contracts and agreements related to land transactions, environmental regulations, and FPWC’s activities.
- Stay informed on tax exemption programs and other relevant legal frameworks.
- Assist with land-related legal processes, including cadastral transactions, land agreements, and property rights.
- Prepare and manage official legal correspondence with government bodies, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Provide legal guidance and support when working with local communities, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Handle land-use issues, permits, and property rights, especially related to conservation efforts.
Requirements
Education and License
- Qualified to Civil, Land laws in Armenia (mandatory).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law.
- Licensed attorney with full authorization to practice law in Armenia.
Work Experience
- At least 2-3 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in NGOs or environmental law.
- Extensive experience in drafting and negotiating contracts related to land transactions, land-use laws, and property agreements.
- Proven experience with cadastral transactions, land registration, and other land-related legal issues.
- Experience working with local communities and providing legal support for community-based initiatives.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Armenian Civil law, Land Code, and tax exemption regulations.
- Fluent English (both written and spoken) is a must for this role.
- Exceptional legal writing and drafting skills for contracts, reports, and official documents.
- Ability to manage complex legal issues and work with various stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple legal matters simultaneously.
Nice-to-Haves

Familiarity with Russian is an advantage.
Additional Notes
- The role will involve legal support for land-use planning, conservation, and community engagement projects, contributing directly to the organization’s mission.
- Occasional travel to meet with local communities, governmental bodies, and stakeholders may be required.
