We are seeking an experienced, business-oriented, and strategic legal professional to lead the Legal Department of our Yerevan office. The Head of Legal will oversee a team of legal consultants, provide expert advice to clients, and ensure the highest quality of legal services in Armenia.

This role combines hands-on project management, strategic leadership, and cross-border collaboration within SCHNEIDER GROUP’s international legal network.

Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership and Management

  • Lead and develop the legal team in Armenia, ensuring high professional standards and effective knowledge sharing.
  • Manage workload distribution, supervise consultants, and ensure timely and accurate delivery of services.
  • Represent the legal practice of the Armenian office at the regional and group level.

2. Client Advisory and Project Management

  • Provide strategic legal advice to international clients on market entry, corporate structuring, and ongoing business operations.
  • Independently manage complex legal projects (including M&A, joint ventures, restructurings,).
  • Deliver consultations and legal opinions in English, Russian, and Armenian in the areas of corporate, commercial, and civil law.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts of various types
  • Oversee due diligence processes and ensure compliance with local and international regulations.

3. Legal Representation and Compliance

  • Represent clients before Armenian authorities, regulators, and courts when required.
  • Supervise the legal compliance of internal operations and client projects.
  • Monitor legislative developments and advise clients on their implications.

4. Research, Development, and Thought Leadership

  • Contribute to publications, articles, and client alerts in Armenian, English, or Russian.
  • Promote continuous learning within the team through mentoring and internal workshops.
  • Support the development of business relationships between Armenia, the EU, and CIS countries.

Requirements

  • Education: Law degree from a recognized university.
  • Experience: Minimum 8–10 years of professional experience in legal consulting or an international law/audit firm, including 3+ years in a managerial or lead role.
  • Strong background in corporate, commercial, and civil law; experience in M&A, investment, and regulatory projects.
  • Proven track record in team leadership and client relationship management.
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills in English, Russian; Armenian, German is an asset.
